Understanding Your Battery

Your Toygear ride-on vehicle is powered by a rechargeable battery that requires regular care to perform at its best.

Like the battery in your car, your ride-on battery is not a "set and forget" component. Rechargeable batteries naturally lose charge over time, even when the vehicle is not being used. If a battery is left flat or stored without regular charging, its performance and lifespan can be permanently reduced.

Following the simple care instructions below will help maximise your battery's lifespan, maintain reliable performance, and reduce the risk of avoidable battery failure.

Initial Charge

Before using your ride-on vehicle for the first time:

  • Fully charge the battery for a minimum of 12 hours, even if it appears to have some charge.
  • Allow the battery to complete a full charging cycle before operating the vehicle.

Charging After Use

To keep your battery in excellent condition:

  • Charge the battery after every use.
  • Do not store the battery in a discharged (flat) state.
  • Avoid completely draining the battery before recharging.
  • Only use the charger supplied with your Toygear ride-on vehicle.

Regular charging is the best way to maintain battery health and ensure your ride-on is always ready for the next adventure.

Storage

If your ride-on vehicle will not be used for an extended period:

  • Fully charge the battery before storing the vehicle.
  • Recharge the battery at least once every 30 days, even if the vehicle has not been used.
  • Store the vehicle in a cool, dry location.
  • Avoid exposing the battery to direct sunlight, excessive heat, freezing temperatures, or moisture.

Regular maintenance charging during storage helps prevent the battery from becoming over-discharged, which can permanently damage rechargeable batteries.

Battery Warranty

Toygear provides a 6-month manufacturer's warranty on batteries against defects in materials and workmanship under normal domestic use.

The battery warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Over-discharging or leaving the battery flat for extended periods
  • Incorrect charging procedures
  • Using a charger other than the one supplied or approved by Toygear
  • Water or moisture damage
  • Physical damage, misuse, or abuse
  • Improper storage or failure to maintain regular charging

Troubleshooting

If your ride-on vehicle will not operate:

  1. Ensure the battery has been fully charged.
  2. Check the charger indicator lights:
  • Red light: Battery is charging.
  • Green light: Battery is fully charged or the charger is not connected to the battery correctly.
  1. Check that all battery connections are secure and free from damage.
